Lori Young is an experienced Nurse Practitioner and manages the high quality of services provided to Vigilant Health patients. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Mississippi College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She holds board certification in Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is board-certified in Advanced Diabetes Management.
Prior to joining Vigilant Health, Steve Bethel was the President and CEO of Angel Eye Camera Systems, which provides real-time video and audio interaction between patients, family members, and caregivers in acute intensive care units. Bethel was part of the founding management team that helped commercialize this proprietary technology from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences that is deployed in over 65 hospitals in the United States and the United Kingdom. Bethel has also served in leadership and operating roles in several health care services companies in the ambulatory surgery and clinical trials industries.
He has an extensive background in business development in the health care services sector and commercial and investment banking. He has held senior account roles at Citibank NA and was a Senior Vice President at Stephens Inc. in Little Rock. Bethel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from Cornell University.
Stephanie Clarke is a seasoned business development executive offering over 20 years of commitment to managing the client experience. She has successfully implemented employee wellness, occupational health, and safety programs for hundreds of employer groups across the Southeastern U.S. She is an expert in managing and developing mutually beneficial relationships between providers and employers.
Clarke holds certifications as a Certified Sales Professional (CSP) and a Certified Self-Insured Workers’ Comp Professional (CSIWCP). She is a graduate of the Leadership of Mississippi program. Clarke is also a member of the Mississippi Economic Development Council, Mississippi Business Group on Health, Mississippi Association of Self-Insurers, and the Professional Women’s Association. Clarke received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Rehabilitation from The University of Southern Mississippi.
Michelle Young brings more than 25 years of health care clinic operations to her role as Director of Practice Management for Vigilant Health. Young has extensive knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Her previous experience includes meeting all requirements for accreditation and leading the development of two new ambulatory surgical centers. She also has experience preparing all necessary state and federal requirements for CLIA certification, reorganizing office staff, and restructuring protocol for efficient office flow.
Young’s recent previous positions include Executive Director/Surgery Center Administrator for Comprehensive Pain Pain Center of MS, PLLC, and Comprehensive Pain Center for Surgery, LLC, where she was responsible for operations, payroll, compliance with federal and state regulations, payroll tax, billing, scheduling accounts payable, and accounts receivable. She was also Administrative Officer/Surgery Center Administrator for NewSouth Neurospine, where she managed operations for its multi-specialty clinics and ambulatory surgery center, supervised more than 30 employees, and ensured all OSHA, state, and federal regulations, life safety codes, and emergency preparedness policies were followed and met. Young is a member of Medical Group Management Association and the Mississippi Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, and is a Notary Public.
Autumn Myhand serves as the Director of Project Management for Vigilant Heath. She is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator with more than two decades of experience. She leads all components of Employee Health Management Programs and onboards educators and providers to deliver care plans.
Her previous experience includes providing diabetes education for adults and children in a clinic setting and in industry. She is a frequent lecturer for patient and professional conferences in the diabetes community. Myhand has an extensive background in training and managing patients on insulin pumps and supporting providers with insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring. She has also worked in the university wellness space developing campus programs and delivering nutritional care. Myhand received her BS degree in dietetics from Nicholls State University and has been a Certified Diabetes Educator since 2003.
Laura Nail is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with nearly two decades of nursing experience. Her background includes family practice, cardiology, and chronic pain management. Since joining Vigilant Health in 2015, Laura has been named the Vice President of Clinical Operations and has helped develop the Nurse Practitioner Navigator role, a role specific and central to the success of the company. The Nurse Practitioner Navigator provides high-quality care as well as direct communication to patients regarding their health and navigation of the health care system. This combination of open communication and outstanding care has been proven to enhance overall health of the patient and decrease health care costs to the client. Nail’s role is to ensure standardization of practice through training and building close relationships with the Nurse Practitioner Navigator at each location.
Nail received her BSN from Mississippi College and MSN from University of South Alabama. She enjoys endurance sports and has completed four full marathons and multiple triathlons over the years, including four half ironman distance triathlons.
